We made it!

Well the holidays have come and gone. We flew out to Utah two weeks ago and had a nice break consisting of christmas parties, cabin/sledding/snowmobiling, movies, rummy, food, oh yeah and a bout of contaminated water and/or swine flu going around, and now we are back.

The flight back wasn't so great. We are very happy to be home after this happened for the last 24 hours:

1:00 we check in at the airport

2:00 flight attendant: "We have just been notified that there might be something wrong with the plane. Just sit tight folks and we'll have you boarding in 30 minutes."

2:20 flight attendant: "The plane is definitely broken. We will be towing this plane away and bringing in a new plane from the hangar, we should be ready to board by 3:00. For those of you who will miss your connecting flight, come see a representative at the counter and we will reconnect you to your final destination."

2:25 Spencer gets in line. 

3:20 "The plane is ready, we are now ready to board." Spencer is still in line. 

4:00 "This is the final boarding call for flight *** to Denver." 

4:20 We finally get to speak to a representative, and seeing as we have already missed our next flight in Denver, they cancel this flight for us and give us the option of the next route to Philadelphia and then to columbus, leaving at midnight. Our bags are already on the plane leaving and we don't want to have someone come pick us up and go through security and everything again, so we take it. They also give us $28 in meal vouchers for the SLC airport vendors. 

4:30 the plane leaves. 

5:00 we get our boarding passes for the night flight. 

5:15 Dinner at Cafe Rio on our free meal vouchers! Tons of food. 

6:00 watch "Home Alone 2" 

8:00-12:00 bored, kill time, spend our last voucher money on a butt load of drinks.

12:00-3:50 (aka 5:50am in Philly) salt lake - philadelphia 

6:15am Board flight to Columbus

9:00 arrive in Columbus

9:15 file a baggage claim for our missing luggage

10:00 wait for the bus for 20 min. It is heavily snowing. 

10:25 bus and transfer twice to OSU

12:00 get a gyro at a restaurant by OSU

12:45 finally arrive home. 

1:00-5:00 clean ourselves and sleep. 

Oh how I love traveling! 

Luckily for us, our bags were delivered to our door at about 4:30 the same day. We got really lucky.
